My Daughter’s 1st Christmas Tree

My little one is turning 3 in a few months. On my previous blog post, I talked about how we introduced Santa Claus. That was right after we picked up a small tree for her and a couple of Christmas decors.

We purchased a 4ft tree.  Just a small one that could fit in our humble little home and big enough for her to enjoy hanging the decors herself. As soon as we got home we started putting up the tree and she was very excited. She helped with the decors and at one point she was jumping up and down with glee.

When all the decors and lights are in place, we carefully put all the gifts under the tree. She asked if she can open them but we told her that Santa Claus will give her more gifts if she waits until Christmas day. We placed a red boot under the tree and I told her Santa will pass by the homes of good kids at night to fill the boot with some treats. She smiled and said “I’m a good kid”.

After we’ve set up the tree, I switched on the TV and we watched the movie “The Santa Claus” which is currently free on Du Movies on Demand. Then we called it a night.

The following day, she checked the boot and was delighted to see some treats!

Every morning she asks “Is today Christmas Day?” And I answer her “Not yet.”  She would go to the tree to switch on the miniature Santa Claus that plays the melody of Santa Claus is coming to Town.

I can see the anticipation in her eyes everyday when she looks at the Christmas Tree and all the gifts underneath. And what I am proud of the most is her eagerness to deliver gifts to her friends.
