Dubai Old Souk and Abra Ride

We’ve been in the UAE for over a decade yet we have not visited a couple of important landmarks in the country.

Today we decided to take our daughter out on a boat ride to see Dubai’s Old Souk.

This is the Abra. It is used as a daily transportation connecting Bur Dubai and Deira.

We hopped on board and in no time, it was filled by passengers. The fare for adult is one dirham and kids go for free. How cool is that?

Another boat leaving the station to pick up people from the other side.

There are so many interesting finds at the souk.

Crystals in different shapes and sizes
Beautiful Mosaic Lamps
Arabian Shoes

Look at what Sophia chose as a keepsake from today’s trip. A handmade purse for only 3 dirhams. What a steal!

The Old Souk is filled with so many Spices, Arabian Clothing and Cashmere Scarves.

We enjoyed our time and this smiley is ready to hop back on the boat and continue to the next destination.

More about today’s trip on my next blog post!
